Robert Oppenheimer was born in New York City on April 22, 1904
His parents were Julius S. Oppenheimer and Ella Friedman
Robert had only one sibling and it was Frank Oppenheimer who was also a physicist.
Robert attended the Ethical Culture Society School at a young age.
Went to Harvard in 1922 to become a chemist but later switching to physics.
Attended Cambridge University's Cavendish Laboratory to do his research and experiments in 1925.
In 1926, Oppenheimer went to the University of Göttingen to obtain his Ph.D
He had jobs in laboratories or being the leader of projects to build bomb. Oppenheimer was in charge of the Manhattan Project to build the atomic bomb.
After the war he became the chairman of the General Advisory Committee of the Atomic Energy Commission.
Married to Katherine Puening Harrison
Have two kids named Peter and Katherine Oppenheimer
Died in Princeton of throat cancer on February 18 1967
